Dermal Fillers

About Dermal Fillers

The use of dermal fillers can define and sculpt the face restoring lost volume, creating contour, smoothing lines and softening creases, leaving you with a more youthful, softer look.

Dermal fillers are injections of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) which is a natural substance in the body placed strategically to help maintain shape, even out depressions in the skin, and provide hydration. They basically restore lost volume to your face and plump areas so that deep set lines are smoothed because as we get older our bodies stop producing collagen and elastin both of which contribute to a youthful look.

More Information

This section details some of our most frequency asked questions about the treatment. It also includes information about what you should some pre & post treatment advice. If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

What are the most common areas to be injected?

The most common areas to be injected are:

  • Cheek enhancements
  • Lip enhancements.
  • Upper lip lines (smokers lines)
  • Nasolabials – nose to mouth
  • Marionettes – sides of mouth

How long does it last?

Results can last up to 6-18 months after treatment depending on the area. As with all dermal filler treatments, filler lasts longer when built up gradually over time with repeated treatments. It is important to note that each client is different and lifestyle factors can play a role in how the filler is metabolised between different individuals.

Note: hot climates, sunbeds, smoking and fast metabolism speed up the breakdown of filler.

What brand of filler do you use?

We only use hyaluronic acid (HA) based lip enhancers and dermal fillers. They are non-permanent and completely reversible if needed. We stock a wide range of dermal filler brands. Get in touch if there’s a particular brand you prefer.

We believe over 90% of the cosmetic result depends on the skill and artistic flare of the medical practitioner holding the filler in their hand rather than the brand of filler being used.

What can I expect?

Prior to your first treatment, our nurse practitioner will consult with you to assess your suitability for dermal filler and discuss any concerns or questions you may have and what you wish to achieve from the treatment.

The procedure involves a small amount of the prescribed product being administered into the selected areas using a very fine needle, or in some instances, a cannula.
